NEW YORK — The Yankees won 4-1 against the Seattle Mariners in the first game of the three-game series against another AL Team. The Yankees improved to 67-52 on the season with the win.

The victory marked the 30th come from behind win for the Yankees this season.

## Offensive Woes

It was another game that saw the Yankees offense not perform against a starter. The first time through the lineup, right-hander Bryan Woo threw over 50 pitches. He was able to make it through the fifth inning after the Yankees at-bats completely tailed off.

Coming into the game, Woo had posted a 6.71 ERA on the road. He pitched five shutout innings. Again, some of the Yankee at-bats were good, but they could not push a run across.

The Yankees pitching staff has had to be just about perfect over the past two-plus months with the offense not scoring without Aaron Judge in their lineup. The pitching can't pitch a shutout every night. Something has to give with the Yankees offense sooner rather than later.

The Yankees were able to rally in the seventh inning to score their four runs. Mariners manager Dan Wilson went to a right-hander to lead off the inning against the big lefties in the Yankees lineup and it did not work. A double by Luis Garcia Jr. and a single by Jazz Chisholm Jr. later and the Yankees were set up for a big inning. A two-run single by Ryan McMahon and a two-run single by Trent Grisham later and the Yankees had built a 4-1 lead.

## Weathers' Start

Ryan Weathers did not have a bad start at all. He allowed one run, a solo home run in the sixth inning off the bat of Randy Arozarena. On the night, Weathers allowed just two hits, but he took the loss because his offense did not provide him with run support.

Weathers was in a groove at one point of retiring 12 in a row, and at times looked dominant. At other times in the game, he did not look as dominant, allowing baserunners in the first and second innings on two walks and an infield single, but did not allow the big hit in those spots.

Weathers earned the no-desicion for his efforts.
