The Yankees will take on the Mariners at Yankee Stadium for a three-game set.
NEW YORK — The Yankees will kick off a series against the struggling seattle mariners. With the Red Sox hot on their tails and the Rays division lead growing, the Yankees need to be on their games.
The Yankees will be sending out lefty Ryan Weathers to take on the Mariners lineup. Weathers made his first start as a Yankee in Seattle back in March, and has improved a lot since then. Weathers has performed quite well for the Yankees this season, including being in the midst of an 18 inning scoreless streak. Weathers has logged the most innings of his career this season, and this could be one of his last starts in his rotation with Carlos Rodon making his second rehab start at the end of the week. The expectation is that Weathers will be moved to the bullpen when/if the Yankees rotation reaches full health this season
The Yankees offense needs to get going. They are simply not hitting and that needs to improv. Every win they’ve had since the all star break, 12, has been a save situation in some capacity, or a walk-off. The offense is going to need to score a ton more runs to give some of the high leverage arms a rest in a game they win at some point.

Yankees Injury Notes
- LHP Carlos Rodon will make another rehab start at the end of the week before returning from his elbow injury.
- RHP Luis Gil will begin a rehab assignment tonight with High-A Hudson Valley. Gil could factor into the Yankees bullpen later on this season if the opportunity arrives.
